Chin

The chin is a structure that gives harmony to the profile of people, which in some of them, can have an excessive or inferior development to what has been considered aesthetically appropriate. A well defined chin is indispensable to bring harmony and balance to the face.

PURPOSE OF THE PROCEDURE

Mentoplasty is the surgical procedure by which it seeks to improve the projection and aesthetic appearance of the chin, providing balance and harmony to the facial profile.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

The procedure can be performed by an intraoral incision at the junction of the lip and gum or by an incision at the level of a natural fold under the chin. Subsequently, a very precise pocket is created where a Silicone implant is introduced to achieve the harmonic and aesthetic appearance that is required. The implants come in different shapes and sizes and have a soft consistency that allows them to give a feeling similar to that of natural tissue. Once the implant is inserted, the incisions are closed with sutures.

RECOVERY

Once the surgery is finished, a bandage is placed that will be removed two or three days after the procedure. It is normal to present moderate pain and discomfort which will be controlled with analgesics and anti-inflammatories. In the first days a liquid and soft diet will be prescribed to avoid chewing.
