RHYTIDOPLASTY

Over the years there are different changes in the soft tissues of the face, which are responsible for the signs of aging that inevitably appear in all people such as the lowering of the cheeks and the deepening of the grooves that extend from the nose to the corners of the mouth.

Characteristically, these signs appear as a consequence of the hyper laxity of the skin, the loss of tissue volume and the decrease in fat.

If you find yourself dissatisfied with the signs of aging on your face, facial rejuvenation may be an option for you.

PURPOSE OF THE PROCEDURE

Rhytidoplasty or facial rejuvenation is the surgical procedure that seeks to improve the visible signs of aging on the face and neck, correcting excess skin and lowering of the cheeks, attenuating prominent grooves found in the periorbital and nasolabial region and re positioning all the structures of the face to an anatomical position, giving a renewed, youthful and more pleasant appearance.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia through discrete incisions in the sideburn and around the ear following the line of implantation of the scalp. Subsequently, re positioning and fixating of the facial and neck muscles is performed and the excess skin is resected. At the end of the procedure, the wounds are faced with fine sutures, leaving the scars hidden in the natural folds of each person.

RECOVERY

The average disability time is 10 days. After the procedure, drains are left to prevent bruising. Patients may present with bruising (purples) and edema (swelling) in the neck and face, which will progressively improve. The recovery of the rhytidoplasty can take up to 6 months while the inflammation disappears completely, just as the incisions tend to fade and remain almost imperceptible.

FACIAL LIPOINJECTION

Over the years, facial aging affects all the structures of the face including subcutaneous cellular tissue, which generates changes in the position of the fat in addition to a decrease in its volume. These changes in fatty tissue affect the harmony of the face with loss of facial contours and juvenile anatomical features.

PURPOSE OF THE PROCEDURE

Facial lipoinjection is the surgical procedure that seeks to apply a person’s fat cells, in those places where volume and contours have been lost. In general, fat infiltration is performed on the cheeks, cheekbones, nasolabial grooves, lips and sometimes on the side of the forehead.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

Through small incisions, fat is extracted by syringes attached to liposuction cannulas. The fat is extracted from the same patient and is usually taken from the abdominal region or from the inner side of the thighs. Subsequently, a treatment of the fat cells is done to increase their survival by centrifugation or decantation. Finally, the fat injection is done using small syringes that allow infiltrating the exact amount required by each patient.

RECOVERY

Facial lipoinjection is an outpatient procedure that has an approximate disability of 5 days depending on the area treated and the amount of fat injected. Initially there will be inflammation in the lipoinjected area that will disappear after one week.
