These changes have been associated with different conditions such as: pregnancy, significant fluctuations in body weight, inheritance, surgical procedures or the normal aging process.

Many people try to get a flat and firm abdomen with exercise and rigorous diets. However, sometimes these methods fail to achieve their goals, so that tummy tuck becomes a very effective tool to improve the appearance and function of the abdominal region.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

The tummy tuck is performed under general anesthesia, an incision is made in the lower abdomen pate following the silhouette of the underwear and the skin and fat of the abdominal wall are raised. The muscular distension is corrected by facing the rectus abdominis and the oblique muscles with sutures and the excess skin and fat are subsequently resected. Finally, the navel is reconstructed in the most aesthetic way and the incisions are closed using sutures.

RECOVERY

If it is not accompanied by other procedures, the tummy tuck is an outpatient procedure with a relative rest disability of 8 days, after which the patient can resume his work activities without exercising or physical effort using a girdle for a month. Postoperative inflammation is a normal part of the procedure and will gradually disappear after 2 to 3 months.
